Dalat Birds Watching Tour

Dalat is well known for its nice climate and scenic natural beauty as lakes, river, mountains, forests, and waterfalls and also the ideal places for bird watching activity thanks to the diversity of flora and fauna, The Dalat Plateau is one of the seven endemic bird areas (EBAs) Being identified by BirdLife International in Vietnam. Habitats are a mixture of coniferous, montane evergreen and secondary forest. Three bird species, Grey-crowned Crocias, Collared Laughingthrush, and Vietnamese Greenfinch, are only to be found within this EBA. The Dalat Plateau also has distinct subspecies of Spot-breasted Laughingthrush (considered by some authorities as a separate species: Orange-breasted Laughingthrush), Vietnamese Cutia, Black-crowed Fulvetta, Dalat Shrike Babbler. And another beautiful bird is Blue Pitta, Rusty-naped Pitta, Rufous-throated Partridge, Blue-winged Minla, Rufous-backed and Black-headed Sibias, Black-throated Sunbird and Grey-headed Parrotbill…

Day 1:

• The Birds of  Bidoup Nui Ba National Park

Day 2:

• Tuyen Lam Lake

BASIC TOUR OF 02 DAYS IN DALAT

DAY 1: Start at 6 am finish at 6 pm at your hotel.

• The Birds of Bidoup Nui Ba National Park.
  Bidoup Nui Ba National Park with a height of 600m-2287m, diverse with evergreen broad-leaved forest and pine forests, these forests Has many species of birds living. we will walk our way up through Bidoup Nui Ba National Park, keep an eye out for Large Cuckooshrike, Red Crossbill, and the endemics Vietnamese Cutia and Vietnamese Greenfinch , before we go deep into the denser mixed evergreen forest above the upper slopes, which we will search a species which is endemic to the plateau that is the notoriously elusive Collared Laughingthrush. Other targets on the mountain include Pygmy Cupwing, Clicking and Dalat Shrike-Babblers, Golden-throated Barbet, Gray-bellied Tesia, and Black-crowned Fulvetta, Blue Pitta, Rusty-naped pitta…

DAY 2: Start at 6 am and finish at 6 pm at your hotel.

• The Birds of Tuyen Lam Lake. 
  In the morning from your hotel, we go to another local site at Tuyen Lam lake, a pine woodland-surrounded-scenic lake, it holds the potential of seeing Vietnamese Greenfinch, Grey-crowned Crocias, the endemic race (species?) of Slender-billed Oriole or Red Crossbill, also Burmese Shrike, Chestnut-vented Nuthatch, and Black-collared Starling.

- Feeding spot (easy to take pictures): Collared Laughingthrush, Orange-breasted Laughingthrush, White-tailed Robin, large Niltava, Black-crowned Fulvetta, mountain Fulvetta, Gray-bellied Tesia, Thrushes, Blue Pitta, Rusty-naped Pitta, flycatchers, thrushes…
